Function and selection basis
Studs, bolts and nuts are available against specified API 20E requirements where the integrity of a pressure-containing or pressure-controlling joint depends on qualified bolting manufacture and traceability. Selection is not based on size alone: the equipment standard, flange or closure design, loading, temperature, material grade, Bolting Specification Level (BSL), coating, environment and required documentation must be stated and verified.
