Purpose and technical function

The combination tool is oriented one way to install or retrieve a wear bushing and reversed to act as a test plug. Wear bushings protect the casing- or tubing-spool bowl and seal surfaces from drill-string damage; adaptor bushings match the basic tool to different wellhead sizes.
